the search for a house in delhi

hey there,

Sorry for blogging after 3 days. I had a lot of interesting experience but was so exhausted by the time I came to the hotel that the bed seemed like a haven.
But I wanted to share a few of my experiences today. so here it is.

Day 1:-

Immediately after landing I went to the hotel, checked in, kept my suitcase and started my search for a house. Now this was a task. Let me tell you before that I am not alien to this kind of search, I lived in a rental house in Mumbai as well and was searching for 4 months to find the perfect house.
But in Delhi I had only 2 days.

So I went and met the brokers and started looking at 1BHK flats. My oh my was I traumatized. Now I'm not prejudiced to Delhi, there have been pretty scandalizing houses in Mumbai as well BUT the toilet bathroom and kitchen was inside the house.
I just couldn't imagine such houses, such houses in Mumbai only existed in chalws(as per my knowledge)

Ok now the kitchen was another topic. I saw a house that had proper rooms and bathroom and toilet was inside but the kitchen was on a plastic balcony with just a stoke kept with no gas whatsoever. Charge - Rs.20,000. Scandalized.

There were quite a few such houses. then out of nowhere I met a broker who had heard about my search and showed me his set of houses. His set of houses were a bit proper he showed me some in Lajpat nager IV and GK-1. the houses were better but it was either on the 5th floor(without lift) or out of budget.

so now its 5 pm and I was completely drained, but determined to find a house, I kinda had no choice.
so I decided to go on a search on my own a check up with the local dealers in the area I preferred.
And I found a broker who had wonderful set of flats some good but out of budget and then finally, he showed me a house, and I took a sigh of relief. it was a proper flat with everything inside and a proper kitchen(properly ventilated) Rent:- 18,000. the only minus point was that it was on the 3rd floor. but I don't mind climbing 3 floors if the house is proper. So this was it. I finalized it and will be moving in today.

I just realized something, People always come to Mumbai and say that its a task finding a house in Mumbai than anywhere in India because there a limited houses available comparatively. But I disagree with them, it is a task finding a house anywhere in the WORLD.
